Mercedes Carrera (Melinda Smith) is an American porn star and adult model of German, Lakota, Puerto Rican, and Swedish descent.

During her youth, and before starting in porn, she worked as a model in advertising campaigns and advertisements. Mercedes entered the University, where she did manufacturing engineering and later she worked as a telecommunications engineer, trainer, and photography and audiovisual production technician.

She entered the pornographic film industry in 2014, at the age of 32. Since her entry, she has worked with the main production companies in the sector such as Bang Bros, Girlfriends Films, Devil's Film, Elegant Angel, Zero Tolerance, Penthouse, 3rd Degree, Adam & Eve, Evil Angel, Axel Braun Productions or Brazzers, participating in more than 500 movies.

Carrera was arrested along with her boyfriend Jason Whitney in February 2019 for sexual abuse of a child in San Bernadino County, California. She is currently in jail awaiting trial on the charges.
